Summary:

 

Told from the perspective of a young girl, To Kill a Mockingbird is the story of life in a small 1930’s southern town. Life in sleepy Maycomb is shaken when a crisis of conscience occurs which absorbs the whole community.   Scout is an observant, intelligent narrator who presents the experiences of hatred and racism through the innocent eyes of childhood.  She, and her older brother Jem, grow up and learn tough and unforgiving life lessons.
