Week of January 14 - January 17
The HP courses here at Brooklyn Junior are taught by Pre-AP trained teachers. This course is designed for students who want to be better prepared to take Advanced Placement courses while still in high school. Students pursuing an Advanced Placement course of study may be motivated by a variety of reasons:

Their tentative career choice

Their love or aptitude for the subject matter

Their parents' desire to have them excel

The academic prestige brought to them by enrolling in the course
Parents should be aware that the Pre-AP course may have more homework than the standard course and that some of the material in the couse may seem quite different than material they may have seen in past years. I encourage you to take an active role in your students' learning. Parents who understand the goals of the course are more likely to encourage thier students' success.
