FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE

Family and Consumer sciences provide students with learning opportunities that will help them understand the interrelationships among individuals, families, workplace and communities in a diverse, global society.  The program is devoted to helping students learn positive strategies that affect the well-being of individuals.

 

FACS 7 – 1 Trimester

Students learn about nutrition, food preparation, consumer awareness, child care and careers.  They learn how to use the information to develop decision-making skills.

 

FACS 8 – 1 Trimester

Students express creativity by constructing a sport bag and personalizing it using the computerized sewing machine.  They develop skills to become a smart shopper and explore career choices.
