Site Council Meeting Minutes 
October 11^th 2007

Present:  
           Esme Apostolou, Cheryl Billodeau, Michelle Burke (arr 5:00pm), Laurie Dvorak, Wendy Ehlert, Rob Mendolia (dep 5:20pm), Pat Mohr, Kim Monette, Lin Myszkowski, Angie Vivatson (dep 5:20pm), Christine Weatherman 

The meeting was brought to order at 4:30pm by Christine; everyone stated their favorite ice cream.

School board member Lin Myszkowski, speaking on behalf of the vote Yes committee, gave a short presentation explaining the upcoming levy referendum. There will be cuts next year even if the levy passes as increases in revenue from the state do not keep up with inflation.

Department Chairs have not met since our last meeting.

There is approximately $2,244 in the site council account.

The site council Norms were reviewed and approved as written. 

Christine distributed a page from the last BJ Newsletter containing her article about the site council.

The site improvement plan was reviewed and approved as written.

Silent Sustained Reading is going well. The building PLC’s will begin October 17^th to coincide with SSR on Wednesday mornings.

Current enrollment numbers are 7^th - 409, 8th - 333 and 9^th – 371 for a total of 1113. The school is now closed to open enrollment. We are now at 48% free and reduced and 67% diverse.

Parent volunteers still are needed for DPAC and the Human sexuality committee.

Site Council goals for 2007-08 were reviewed. The goal to generate funds was removed.

Site Council minutes are published on the school website for the current school year only.

The council voted to continue to pay the facilitator a stipend of $500 per year and pay the recorder for 2 hour at her regular rate of pay for preparing the minutes after each meeting.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:00pm. The next meeting will be Tuesday November 13th 2007 at 4:30pm in the office conference room.
