Mr. LaFrenier
Advanced Placement Human Geography (grade 9) will be a pilot program beginning in September 2009 meeting on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in room 306 from 7:00am to 7:50am. Course studies begin on September 14 and run through the first week of June. Text: The Human Mosiac Jordan-Bychkov, which is accessible on-line for students and parents to review.

World Cultures and Geography (grade 7) is an every day all-year regular social studies course taught hours 1 , 2 and 3 in room 306. Study of ancient civilizations and cultures of Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas are covered. Physical and cultural features of allregions of the world are studied. Textbook used: World Cultures and Geography McDougell-Littell also available on-line

HP-Social Studies (grade 7) is also an every day all year social studies course that covers the same regular curriculum, but includes deeper investigations, small group dynamics and oral presentations. This class meets hour 5 in room 306. Emphasis is placed on improving communications skills such as reading, writing, and public speaking. We use the same textbooks and atlas as the regular classes.
