BLING: It’s Friday and that means it’s BLING time!!! This week’s winners are Emily, Monica, Cher and Emmanuelle. Congratulations!
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: The 5th Annual Minneapolis Urban League National Day of Service is this Saturday, May 10th from 11:00AM to 2:00PM. The event will feature a range of speakers and activities geared toward educating youth and will feature the talent of DJ Xandi, one of the city’s hottest female DJ’s. The event will take place at 2100 Plymouth Ave North in Minneapolis. See Mr. Adams if you have any questions.
OPEN GYM: Open Gym is held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. You must be here by 7:15AM to participate. See Mr. Adams or Mr. Winberg if you have any questions.
ATHLETIC SPECTATORS: Brooklyn Junior spectators are expected to ride the late bus home. If spectators stay until after the second basket ball game, your parents must pick you up by 5:15PM. After the game spectators waiting for a ride must wait outside the building despite the weather. Please remember that you must have your planner and student ID to attend any event, including those that take place at Park Center.
BROOKLYN JUNIOR HIGH Students are not allowed to be on Park Center property after school. BJH students who are found on Park Center property may be cited with trespassing
You are not allowed to wear coats or backpacks during school. Please put them in your locker. If you are repeatedly reminded to take them off they will be confiscated.
Please do not share lockers with your friends; you are responsible for the contents of your locker. If something is found in your locker that is not supposed to be there, it will be your responsibility.
When you enter the building please remove all headgear, headphones and iPods. These items are to remain in your locker during the day.
Cell phones may not be used in the building at any time. They should not be seen during, before or after school. Please keep your cell phones in your lockers during the school day.
If you need to see a school Counselor all students MUST enter only through the Counseling door off the Science hallway. Access to counseling through the main office area will no longer be available. If you enter through the main office you will be asked to go around to the Counseling door.
Students are reminded to sign in on the blue sign in sheet at the reception desk whenever you come to the main office to see an administrator. This is necessary so that you are accounted for and not marked absent or truant from class during the school day.
If you have a meeting with a teacher before school you should report to the front office and wait for your teacher.
Students who stay after school may not leave the building. You must report directly to your teacher or coach. If you plan to attend an athletic event you must bring an updated planner and a student ID to room 122 by 2:50pm.
Teachers & Coaches do not allow students to enter after 2:50 pm.
Students please remember to keep your clothing appropriate for school.
Guys: Do not wear muscle shirts, hats, do-rags or clothing that exposes underwear. NO SAGGING. No pajama pants or slippers!
Girls: Skirts and shorts must be longer than your outstretched fingertips, no clothing that exposes underwear and no bare midriffs. Lasagna straps only, no spaghetti straps. No pajama pants or slippers!
Remember if your clothing is inappropriate you will be asked to change.
After school bell: at 2:50pm every day. At that time students should be in their assigned class or after school activity. If you are in the hall you will be escorted out of the building.
Students you will not be allowed to wait in the front entrance before school please wait in the south /café entrance.
BJ students, if you are to meet younger siblings at Birch Grove remember to meet them by the water tower. You are not allowed on Birch Grove school property. If you are found on their property you could be cited with a trespassing citation.
